THS February Consultant of the Month

With more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Yiesha Cobb brings purpose, clarity and heart to every assignment. She thrives in fast-moving, transitional environments, quickly assessing a property’s needs, earning trust and helping teams regain stability, confidence and pride in their work.

A career rooted in passion and growth

Yiesha’s hospitality journey began in Dallas, where her early education under renowned hospitality educator Leta Durrett Jackstadt at Skyline High School introduced her to the industry. That foundation led to her first hotel role at the Fairmont Dallas Hotel, sparking a lifelong commitment to hospitality.

She went on to earn a bachelor of science degree in culinary arts and hospitality management from Johnson & Wales University, Providence, Rhode Island, and later expanded her leadership development by earning a paralegal certificate at the University of North Texas, Denton.

Beginning her career in the culinary discipline, Yiesha worked her way up to executive chef, developing the operational rigor, financial discipline and high standards that continue to define her leadership today.

Her career naturally evolved into senior operational roles, including director of food and beverage, director of banquets, director of operations, assistant general manager and, ultimately, general manager. Along the way she has supported a wide range of brands, including Hilton, DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, Hyatt Regency, Crowne Plaza and Kimpton, gaining a well-rounded perspective across full-service, lifestyle and convention-driven properties.

Making an impact through task force leadership

Since joining THS as a task force consultant in 2021, Yiesha has completed more than 29 assignments across the country.

Her ability to understand the heartbeat of a hotel and align teams around shared goals makes her a trusted partner to both clients and on-property leadership. Yiesha approaches each assignment with intention, adaptability and a genuine desire to leave every operation stronger than she found it.

A leader grounded in family and purpose

Yiesha’s life and leadership philosophy is centered on her family. She is the proud mother of Jada Brown, whose bold spirit inspires her daily. She draws wisdom from her grandmother, Rosie Cobb, who instilled in her the values of grace and compassion, and from her mother, Veronica Cobb, who taught her to follow her heart through every season of change.

Even her name carries meaning. “Yiesha” translates to “life,” a reminder she carries with her to lead with intention, presence and purpose.

Life beyond the assignment

Outside of work, Yiesha finds energy in travel, culture and meaningful experiences. She enjoys discovering new destinations, exploring great food, listening to soulful R&B and jazz and celebrating life’s milestones with loved ones. Some of her favorite destinations include Colombia, St. Lucia, the Dominican Republic and Panama, which are places that reflect her appreciation for warmth, color and joy.

Yiesha’s advice to fellow consultants

Yiesha’s success is rooted in empathy, adaptability, strong relationship-building skills and a deep understanding of every layer of hotel operations. Her advice to others is simple, yet powerful:

“Stay curious.
Treat people with dignity.
Embrace change.
Always follow your heart.”

Congratulations, Yiesha, on being recognized for the impact you make every day. Your leadership, integrity and commitment to excellence exemplify the very best of THS and continue to inspire teams wherever you go.
