THS December Consultant of the Month

Carolina Rivera currently serves in a long-term task force role across rooms and events at the Playa Largo Resort & Spa, Autograph Collection, in Key Largo, Florida. She brings warmth, professionalism and a deep commitment to service to every property she supports. Her calm presence, strong communication and willingness to jump in wherever needed make her a standout member of the THS consultant team.

From Puerto Rico to the heart of hospitality

The oldest of four siblings, Carolina moved from Puerto Rico to Boston 11 years ago. Her first job was in customer service. She quickly realized that any role connected to serving others was where she felt most at home.

Growing up, Carolina spent a great deal of time with her grandparents, visiting different hotels and creating special memories that stayed with her. Those early experiences, combined with her love for service, inspired her to study hospitality management and pursue a career in the industry.

Building a well-rounded hospitality career

Carolina has spent more than nine years in hospitality, growing through roles including front desk agent, sales coordinator, housekeeping manager and catering and event manager. Each role has helped her build a strong operational foundation and a deep understanding of the guest journey.

Her long-term goal is to become a director of catering. Until then, she treats every task force assignment as a chance to build toward that future, using each property as a classroom to learn, grow and refine her leadership skills.

Life beyond the lobby

When she is not on assignment, Carolina looks for every opportunity to play volleyball, especially on the beach. She loves visiting family in Puerto Rico and spending time in the warm weather amid the natural beauty that reminds her of home.

These moments of connection and recharge help her bring fresh energy, empathy and focus back to each new assignment.

Words of advice for fellow consultants

Carolina credits empathy, adaptability and a willingness to step up wherever needed as key to her success. When asked what advice she would share with consultants who want to excel in task force, she offered this guidance:

“Believe in yourself, stay consistent, protect your energy and never be afraid to grow or step outside your comfort zone.”

Why she chooses THS and task force

When asked what she enjoys about working with THS and in task force roles, Carolina said, “THS is truly invested in their consultants. They make you feel supported and appreciated. THS provides a perfect blend of structure with flexibility where there are clear expectations but also the independence to take ownership and lead.”

She describes each task force experience as a type of “staycation,” allowing her to explore different cities while doing what she genuinely loves: serving guests and supporting hotel teams.

Currently, Carolina is enjoying the beach and warm weather before heading back to snow and continuing to represent the THS standard of service with every interaction.

Congratulations, Carolina, and thank you for all that you bring to THS, our clients, and the guests you support.

Each month, THS presents the Consultant of the Month award to someone working in the field. In addition to this spotlight article in Transformation Post, the honoree receives a gift box and gift card.
